As more and more people are getting into the lucrative field of Forex Trading, they are finding it hard to make a profit. Many enter this field as a way of making it a full time job.

When you sit behind the wheel of your off-roader, there’s so much metal around you. It’s easy to think nothing can ever go wrong. Who needs auto insurance? But then you meet someone like Jack and suddenly you aren’t as sure anymore. Jack was driving down from Eureka to Frisco. He smiled and talked for a while about his family’s love for nature. “We stopped a couple of times and mooched around. When the kids got hungry, we ate the food we’d bought along. He seemed calm talking about it now. Back then, it was different. “We climbed out of the car and tried calling for roadside assistance, but there was no signal. We were stranded in a wilderness, miles from anywhere. They were local and knew a farm with a landline. Folks were really kind that day. Perhaps it was the kids who were all shook up. They got everyone on our side.” The police came fairly quickly. A wreck on those unpaved roads is a real hazard. The tow truck had further to come. By then, Jack had contacted the auto insurance company so everything was on track for the rescue. He had a rental car policy but no local garage had cars to rent. “It took a few days for the wreck to be shipped down to the body shop in Frisco. Not a surprise given where we’d abandoned it. The insurance agent was great help and got the claims department going. I guess we got to hear all the deer jokes but it was all sorted out in the end. Next time though, we’ll stay on the 101.”

The majority of people refinance their mortgage because they are being squeezed by the current loan terms. Let’s take an example of your life as a story of success. When you first took out your mortgage, you had a poor paying job. But that’s all changed. To make the instalments affordable, you went for a long term, say, thirty years. Now you could pay off the loan in half the time. So how do you make this work? First, you have to be able to afford significantly higher monthly repayments. Secondly, what is affordable now must still be affordable in one or two years. Are you sufficiently certain that your circumstances are going to stay successful? Look around. There may be a recession coming. You will pay fees to change the term of the loan.

The other increasingly common reason for renegotiation is to avoid a mortgage adjustment. During the last few years of the housing bubble, many buyers were sold on an adjustable rate mortgage. The idea is simple. You have a low starting interest rate but, at the end of the “holiday” period, the rate is reset or adjusted to a higher rate. All these contracts have a fixed period so everyone knows when the higher rate will hit, but not everyone knows what the new rate will be. Most contracts use the prevailing rate on a particular day + an agreed mark-up. That way, you gamble that the rates are not going to rise significantly over the holiday period.

But the plan was sold on the expectation that all house prices would keep on rising. If the new mortgage rate was going to be too high, homeowners could sell to realize their capital gain and buy another home on an adjustable rate mortgage. Except the bubble has burst and house prices are dropping so owners are caught with no capital gain and increasing monthly instalments. Whichever side of the coin you find yourself on, money is available in the lending market to help you get what you want. All you need is access to multiple lenders to get the best terms. That’s what you get when you use sites like this.

Has it occurred to you that it’s not very fair when insurance companies start poking around your life. They want to know how well you drive your vehicle, what you have in your home worth protecting, how likely you are to fall sick and, most cheerfully, when you think you’re going to die. You want to choose the best company to insure you whether it’s auto, home, health or life insurance. Why bother? Look around you. Checking out the financial strength of an auto insurance company is necessary before you start paying them your hard-earned dollars. So where do you look? There are a number of companies that make their living by rating the performance of other companies. Others are more specialized like Fitch and A.M. Best which have the insurance industry as their primary focus (see their websites at http://www.fitchratings.com and http://www.ambest.com/). You should also find the website operated by the Insurance Department or Commissioner of Insurance for your own state. The best states not only operate a complaints service, but publish an annual report identifying all the companies against whom complaints have been upheld. This gives you a good measure of how the companies actually deliver on their advertised services. Then you should ask around all your family, friends and colleagues at work. Slightly less reliable are the “complaint” or consumer report sites. Most of the people who put up reports are motivated by revenge. They have had poor service and want the world to know about it. Many commercial sites that depend on commission by selling auto insurance add their own “better” reports to balance out the bad. Read both good and bad with a skeptical eye. When you have rated the auto insurers, decide which one gives you the best value terms and buy.

The auto insurance game is a tough one to play. Just when you think you have scored an amazing deal on your auto insurance, you hear that another agency is offering a cheaper rate, one with better quotes and amazing deals. Asking for free quotes in an agency is like asking them to go out of their way for you, something that you aren’t doing. Not to mention dealing with less than friendly agents who frown upon seeing your less than perfect driving record. Don’t put yourself through that if you don’t have to! Right now, in this day and age, you can get your auto insurance quotes online easily. You can find the quotes online by simply comparing at least five agencies who offer the right rates for you. Don’t hesitate with something as serious as auto insurance. Get the facts now.

In 2007, before we were hit by the credit crunch, the wave of foreclosures and the loss of jobs, the U.S. Census Bureau reported that 47m people have no health insurance. That’s a rise of almost 5% as against the estimated number of uninsured made in 2005. So what does this actually mean? The results confirm that these people have no health insurance plan through their work (including the military) or union membership, and no access to federal or state programs including Medicare and Medicaid at any time during a twelve month period.

It also confirms the sad reality that nearly 12% of children had no insurance in 2006. Now, ignoring the politics and focussing on the practical realities, there are two reactions. You can give up on the search for affordable health insurance and wait until the problem becomes sufficiently severe to justify treatment at your local emergency room. It is pointless making any judgemental comments about exposing yourself and others to the risk of more serious injury by delaying treatment.

Once you introduce the profit motive into any service, costs rise to maintain or maximise profits. Numbers in the accounts maintained by the hospitals and insurance companies do not translate into the faces of the children who are denied treatment. Most CEOs sleep well at night. Alternatively, you can use this site and others like it to get comparative quotes.

You should also look at term insurance. The rates are usually less than for equivalent cover under a permanent policy. This means spending time actually talking with the health insurance companies and their agents. Only when you talk to people and ask the right questions about discounts and the different types of plan and policy, do you begin to find something affordable. The more passive you are, the more impossible it becomes to get access to lower rates.

Wherever you look, the story is the same. House prices are in free fall. What are the facts? According to the S&P/Case-Shiller national index, house prices fell by 14% in the year to April 2008! Those of you who like history will know that’s a faster fall than the Great Depression of the 1930s. I always like to be encouraging.

That made it a no-brainer to buy your own home. Unfortunately, two things happened. The was a boom in the construction industry which produced more houses for sale than there are buyers. Secondly, the credit crunch has made banks more cautious in lending money. The result? Negative equity! Lots of people who owe more on their homes than the homes are worth. How does this affect the home insurance policy? Not at all! Well, that’s perhaps a little optimistic so let’s explore.

Home insurance is designed to replace your home if it’s destroyed. The value of the cover is therefore not the sale price but the cost of rebuilding. So, no matter how much your home falls in value, it makes no difference to the premium. Except that there are more national statistics to worry about. Some departments monitor the producer price index (PPI), that’s prices at the wholesale level. That rose by 19.8% in August. So you should care because? Because the prices of bricks and all the other stuff needed to repair or rebuild your damaged home just got that much more expensive.
